Default Ford Ranger

Hi,
I have a 2001 Ranger xlt supercab 4x2. Stock wheel and tire is 225/70/15 I am going to be lowering it 4/5 with control arms ans 2 inch spring in front and a flip kit in back. I want to run 18 in wheels What size tire would you recommend? Also what offset would you run? I am not sure if I am going to run staggard fitment or same all the way around. I really like TSW wheels 5 spoke like the Indy 500 or Jarama. But also have looked at Touren tr6 for price point? Is Touren a good wheel? I know the TSW's are. Thanks for your help!

I would lower the truck and put the stock wheels on to see how tall they look with it lowered then decide how tall you want the tire to be. You may be able to go with a 245 45 18 which is shorter than stock, again depending on how tall you want it to sit. The offset should be between 15 - 25 with a 7.5 or an 8 inch wide wheel.

TSW is a very good brand as well as touren, you will find a better fit with TSW.
Thanks

Thanks for the response. I am going to lower it first and check fit with the stock wheels. How about Boss wheels? I am also looking at the Boss style 338 18x8. But it only comes in a plus 14mm offset or a 2 and I don't know if they would stick out too much with the drop. How is their quality? I don't want chrome. I was looking at the grey and super finish. Some wheel dealers say 0-15 offset for my truck, so they won't sell me TSW's. This is why I'm confused.

The ranger is a tricky one because you can use some many different options. the boss brand is also very good and works well with the ranger. If you are going to lower I would run the 18x8 with a plus 14, the +2 may push it to close to the fender. With the +14 if it sits in a little you can always put a small spacer to make it come out a little, you will not be able to do this with the +2.

Let me know how it turns out.

OK the drop is done. going to get it aligned tomorrow. I do get some rubbing with the stock wheels and tires. What do you think about staggard fitments? Only ask because the 18x8 wheels I am looking at have a 1.5 inch lip but the 9.5 and 10 have 3 inch plus. I like the look of a wide lip. I would like to run same all the way around, but want a wide lip. Do you know of any 3 inch wide lip 18x8 with my fitment? 14-20 offset? I have time to get this right. Have been checking out TSW Zolder in Gold. My truck is Harvest Gold. Thought this might look good and different. Seems everyone has 5 spokes. I like them too. Just rambling now Worked on the truck all day and am now cooling off with a few cocktails!
